Paula Rose

QSO, OStJ

Paula is a Canterbury-based director who specialises in safety and regulatory practice. Her current board appointments include: 

  • Deputy Chief Commissioner and Chair of the Risk and Assurance Committee, Te Kahui Tatari Turi Criminal Cases Review Commission 

  • Commissioner, Te Komihana Tirotiro Aitua Waka Transport Accident Investigation Commission 

  • Authority Member, Chair of the Audit and Finance Committee, and Compliance Committee Member of the Electricity Authority 

Paula has been involved with St John since 2013 and chairs the Hato Hone St John People and Capability Committee. She is particularly interested in how St John helps to build strong resilient communities and is a strong supporter of Area Committees, Community Health initiatives and the development of youth. 

Prior to working as a director, Paula was a career Police Officer, retiring from the Police in 2012 as National Manager Road Policing.  After leaving the Police, Paula was the deputy chair of the Independent Taskforce on Workplace Health and Safety following Pike River and worked as Executive Adviser for the Minister of Social Development on the policy and implementation of the Children’s Action Plan.
