Lorna joined St John in 1997 as an Events Volunteer and since then has also held volunteer roles as Area Youth Manager then District Youth Manager in Nelson/Marlborough. As a volunteer ambulance volunteer Lorna gained her National Certificate in Ambulance in 2004. In 2020 Lorna was elected the Nelson/Marlborough representative on the South Island Region Order Affairs Committee, and was subsequently re-elected for a second triennium in 2023. In 2021, in the absence of the South Westland appointed Area Committee Chair, Lorna was approved by the South Island Region Trust Board as the temporary Chair Facilitator for South Westland Area Committee to support and lead the new Hari Hari ambulance station building project
Lorna has also held a paid role as Public Education Tutor, and in 2017 was appointed to the role as Area Committee Relationship Manager (now Community Engagement Manager) for Tasman – from which she has now retired.
Lorna was admitted as a Member of the Order in 2019 and promoted to Officer of the Order in 2023. Lorna lives in Blenheim.
