Media Update - St John Earthquake Response (4.15PM, 16 NOV) VICTORIA HAWKINS | Wednesday 16 November 2016 MEDIA UPDATE - ST JOHN RESPONSE TO EARTHQUAKE (4:15PM, 16 NOV) St John continues to coordinate its earthquake response at a national level, managing Kaikoura and surrounding affected areas: - 10 St John ambulance officers - including an intensive care paramedic - with medical supplies will accompany approx. 900 passengers aboard HMS Canterbury being transported out of Kaikoura to Lyttleton Harbour this evening - St John has 22 personnel on the ground in Kaikoura including local Kaikoura staff - St John continues to monitor and assess affected areas, move and deploy staff and resources as required and work with other health and emergency agencies as we move through the recovery phase.
