UPDATE ON SERIOUS CRASH, SH5 TARAWERA, HAWKE'S BAY

St John was notified at 9.52am of a serious crash involving a truck and a van on State Highway 5, Tarawera (between Tataraakina Road and Pohokura Road), in the Hawke’s Bay. Three helicopters, four ambulances and one manager responded to the scene. 

St John has treated ten patients whose conditions range from critical to moderate, and transported them to various hospitals including Hawkes Bay, Gisborne, Palmerston North and Taupo Hospital by helicopter and road ambulance.
