St John Update - Hobsonville Tornadoes Nicki Russell | Thursday 6 December 2012 St John Regional Operations Manager Murray Holt says St John has worked with all agencies involved in coordinating the emergency response to the Hobsonville tornado today. This included NZ Defence Forces, NZ Police, NZ Fire Service and Auckland Civil Defence. Call statistics saw no significant fluctation over the time of the tornado. St John transported seven people with minor to moderate injuries to North Shore and Auckland City Hospitals. In terms of emergency response it was within normal parameters for our general operation. However we arranged additional resources to handle other emergencies in the Auckland area while resources were in operation at Hobsonville We also have two Intensive Care Paramedics who are part of USAR who were involved at the scene. Further comment about the ongoing response to the incident should be directed in the first instance to NZ Police, as lead agency.
